How I got my Digging into WordPress book!

Digging into WordPress is a great book by Chris Coyier and Jeff Starr about how to get things done properly in WordPress, and I’ve always wanted to buy a copy since I first heard about it, but didn’t know how to get it until something really interesting happened!

I had done a quick project for a friend and he owed my $30 that I couldn’t find a way to get from him as lived in Canada and the amount was too small to send using bank transfer or even Western Union, and I kept thinking how can I get the money until I thought why don’t I get him to buy the book for me! ( The book costs $27 for the pdf version and $67 for the print+pdf)

So, I suggested that he would pay for the book and send it to me and he said Yes!

I was very happy to get the book this way and started reading it and found it really enjoyable and beneficial at the same time.

I got version 1 at that time and what’s really amazing about it is that when you buy it once you get lifetime subscription to all updated (PDF) copies of the book( I just received my copy of version 3 shown above with the new updates for WordPress 3.01)

So, if you’re interested in WordPress and want to learn it the right way, don’t hesitate in getting your copy, it’s really worth it’s price and you also get a couple of free theme bundled with it.

Something worth noting;

A lot of online sites depend totally on Paypal as their only way of getting paid for their products and services, which is great for them, but they don’t know that it doesn’t support a lot of countries yet, including Egypt, and this was one of the reasons which prevented me from buying the book initially or even joining their affiliate system now as both require a Paypal account!
